Video stuck in queue
Normal: 1–5 minutes. Peak hours (US evening 18:00–23:00 ET) can be 15–20 min. Refresh the page — video may be done. Check Generations tab. Cancel and resubmit if stuck beyond 15 min.
Generation failed
Content policy violation (person names, explicit content) or platform error. Rephrase: use "a figure" instead of names, remove explicit descriptors. Platform errors: cancel and retry.
Monthly generations used up
Free: 30 generations/mo. Pro: 120/mo. Check balance at lumalabs.ai → account → Subscription. Resets on your billing cycle date, not the 1st of the month.
Image upload failing
Supports JPG, PNG, WebP under 10MB. Image must be at least 300×300px. Very extreme aspect ratios (beyond 2:1) produce distorted results. Use 1:1 or 16:9 for best quality.
Video quality poor / distorted
Add specific motion instructions: "camera slowly pans right", "waves gently moving". Use shorter prompts (<50 words). Starting from a high-quality reference image improves output significantly.
Login issues
Luma AI uses email + Google OAuth. If email login fails, try "Continue with Google". Clear browser cookies for lumalabs.ai if stuck in a login loop.

Check live status and queue times
Visit prismix.dev/service/luma. If Luma is operational but your video is stuck, it's usually a queue delay — not a bug. Queue times increase significantly 18:00–23:00 ET on weekdays.

Refresh and check Generations tab
Refresh the lumalabs.ai page — the generation may have finished without updating the progress view. Click the Generations tab in the left sidebar to see all your recent videos, including ones that completed silently.

Fix generation failures
If generation fails instantly: (1) rephrase the prompt to remove person names, explicit words, or violence descriptors; (2) keep the prompt concise — under 50 words; (3) add motion context: "camera slowly pans right", "subject walks through a forest". If failure persists without a clear policy issue, it's a platform error — wait 5 minutes and retry.

Check and manage your generation balance
Go to
lumalabs.ai→ click your avatar (top right) → Subscription to see remaining generations. Generations reset on your billing cycle date. If you need more immediately: upgrade to Pro ($29.99/mo for 120 generations) or wait for the reset. - 5
Improve video quality
For better Dream Machine results: use a high-quality starting image (JPG/PNG, 16:9 or 1:1, sharp and well-lit); write motion-specific prompts ("slow dolly shot forward", "gentle ocean waves"); keep prompts specific but short. Blurry outputs often result from vague prompts or low-resolution reference images. Distorted faces are common — avoid close-up face generation.
