Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-05-18
1. Agreement
By using Prismix you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. "Prismix" means the website and APIs at prismix.dev.
2. The service
Prismix has two public pillars:
- Status — a real-time dashboard, alerting service, and public REST API for 77 AI providers. Features: star services for transition alerts via email + webhook (Discord / Slack / generic), daily + weekly digest emails with timezone scheduling, severity thresholds, per-destination filters + themes, quiet hours, the public endpoint
/api/v1/statuses, and embeddable SVG badges. - News — an aggregator pulling headlines + summaries from 71 curated AI publishers. Features: For-You ranker tuned by your likes / comments / dismisses, tag + source subscriptions, optional instant-publish email (Pro), per-article comment thread with reactions, RSS feeds per source + per tag + a global Atom feed.
Pricing + the tier comparison live at /pricing. We may change pricing or feature gating with at least 30 days' notice; existing accounts retain their access level when changes take effect.
3. Your account
- Most read paths are open to anonymous visitors with no account: the full status dashboard, the news listings + RSS feeds, every article body, and the public API. You only need an account to star services, like / comment / react on articles, subscribe to sources or tags, receive alerts, or use any Pro feature.
- You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.
- Don't share credentials. Don't impersonate other people or organizations.
- You must be 16 or older.
- Sign-in is via email code or GitHub OAuth — both verify ownership of the address you sign up with.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or hammer the service in a way that degrades it for others. The public API publishes its rate limit (60 / hour anonymous, 600 / hour Pro) — please stay under it.
- Post comments, reactions, or roadmap ideas that are illegal, infringing, deceptive, harassing, doxxing, spam, sexually explicit, or that incite violence. Repeat or severe violations forfeit the account; see Section 11.
- Submit contact-form messages that are abusive or sent in volume from automated tooling.
- Use Prismix's alert pipeline to forward to webhook URLs you do not own or control (no using us as an open SMTP / open-webhook relay).
- Re-publish more than headlines + short attributed excerpts of news articles you find on Prismix without your own license from the original publisher — our display of the article body is covered by the takedown clause in Section 6 below.
- Resell the service or scrape its data wholesale without a separate written agreement (/contact for enterprise terms).
5. Third-party trademarks + status data
Prismix references third-party AI services whose trademarks, logos, and product names belong to their respective owners. Prismix is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of the providers it monitors. The status data is sourced from each provider's own public status feed where one exists, or from a public HTTP probe otherwise.
6. News aggregation — fair use + takedown
The News pillar reproduces headlines, short excerpts, and (for some sources) a longer reader-friendly body extracted from each publisher's public RSS / Atom feed. Every article carries a prominent link back to the source, and the page does not run advertising against the content. We treat this as protected by fair-use (US) / fair-dealing (UK/EU) summary norms for news aggregation + commentary, and supplementary to the publisher's original distribution rather than competitive with it.
If you are a publisher and would prefer your source removed:
- Email [email protected] from a domain that demonstrably belongs to the publication (the email's sending domain must match the article URL's registrable domain).
- Include the source name as it appears on /news/settings + a reason. We do not require a copyright claim — "we'd prefer not to be aggregated" is sufficient.
- We drop the feed within 48 hours of a valid request and stop ingesting new items. Existing cached articles already mirrored in our archive are removed within 7 days.
The full DMCA + content-moderation policy follows the same address.
7. User-generated content (comments + reactions)
By posting a comment or reaction on a Prismix article, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, store, and distribute that content as part of the public comment thread for as long as the underlying article remains on Prismix or until you delete the content (whichever comes first). You retain ownership of what you post.
- You are responsible for the content of your comments. Don't post things you don't have the right to publish.
- Each user can soft-delete their own comments any time. The row is replaced with "[deleted]"; bodies are wiped immediately, audit-trail markers are retained for 30 days then hard-wiped.
- Comment reports cross a threshold of 3 distinct user reports → the comment is auto-hidden from the public thread pending admin review. Administrators can clear reports to restore visibility or hard-delete the row.
- We may remove any user-posted content that violates these terms at our discretion, with notice when feasible.
8. Payments & refunds
- The Pro plan is billed monthly through Ko-fi memberships. You can cancel any time from your Ko-fi account; access continues until the end of the current billing period, after which your account moves to the free tier automatically.
- On downgrade we trim your alert destinations back to a single account email and clear any saved webhooks. Re-upgrading does not restore the previous setup — you would need to re-add destinations.
- Refund policy: within 14 days of your first paid month, on request via /contact, no questions asked. Beyond that we do not pro-rate refunds for partial months.
- Card data is handled by Ko-fi and never reaches Prismix.
9. Public API
/api/v1/statusesis free, public, and anonymous-friendly. Cached aggressively at the edge — your consumer should treat the response as ~5 min stale, not real-time.- Embed the SVG badges anywhere. Attribution is appreciated, not required.
- We reserve the right to add a per-IP cap if anyone abuses these endpoints; the current cap is published at /api-docs and we will give 30 days' notice before tightening it for production consumers.
10. Service availability
We aim for high availability but do not promise zero downtime. Status alerts are best-effort — we won't be liable for a missed transition caused by upstream outages, email delivery failure, or webhook receiver downtime. Prismix is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind.
11. Limitation of liability + termination
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid Prismix in the 12 months preceding the claim (or USD 50, whichever is greater). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including damages arising from a missed status alert.
You can stop using Prismix at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms — including the comment-moderation rules in Section 7. We'll give 30 days' notice unless the violation is severe (abuse, fraud, security threat, repeated comment-policy breach). On termination your data is wiped per the retention rules in our Privacy Policy.
12. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on prismix.dev and emailed to active users at least 14 days before they take effect.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the operator's principal place of business, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction provides stronger rights — those continue to apply.
14. Contact
For all inquiries, use the contact form or email [email protected]. Publisher takedown requests + DMCA notices should follow Section 6.
