Common causes of "Poe not working"
If Prismix shows Poe as "Operational" but you're having trouble:
- Specific bot unavailable vs Poe itself — Poe is a platform that proxies requests to other AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.). If one provider is down, only bots using that provider are affected — Poe itself is still up. For example, if Claude is degraded, Claude-3 bots on Poe will fail but GPT-4 bots will still work.
- Daily message limit reached — Free tier has daily message limits per bot type. Premium bots (GPT-4, Claude Opus) have lower daily limits. Check your usage in Settings → Subscription.
- Bot creator's server is down — If you're using a custom bot (not Poe's built-in bots), it may depend on a third-party server. Poe returns "Bot not available" if the creator's webhook is down.
- API access revoked (403) — Poe API access is invite-gated. If your API key stops working, check poe.com/api_key to confirm it's still active.
- Image generation bot failures — DALL-E and Stable Diffusion bots on Poe depend on external APIs. These can fail independently of Poe's chat infrastructure.

Monitor the underlying AI providers?
Poe aggregates multiple AI providers. If a Poe bot is broken, check the underlying provider directly:
