Common causes of "Udio not working"

Song generation not completing — Udio processes music asynchronously; standard generation takes 30–90 seconds. During peak usage (weekend evenings), queue times can reach 5–10 minutes. The status indicator shows "Generating" → "Ready"; if stuck for more than 15 minutes, it's a service issue — check Prismix for active incidents.
Vocals sound robotic or off-pitch — Udio performs best with specific genre and mood prompts; vague prompts like "pop song" produce average results. Add instrumentation details ("electric guitar lead, driving drums"), tempo ("120 BPM, uptempo"), and vocal style ("female vocalist, breathy, indie folk") for significantly better output.
Audio extension creates a jarring transition — Udio's "Extend" feature appends audio to an existing clip. For smoother transitions, trim your clip to end on a natural musical phrase boundary (end of a bar or chorus); extending from the middle of a section creates discontinuities in rhythm and melody.
Cannot download high-quality audio — Udio free tier allows unlimited generation but limits downloads to MP3 128kbps; paid plans provide WAV/FLAC. The "Download" button only appears after generation completes; right-clicking the audio player on the free tier yields only the 128kbps stream.
Lyrics generation not matching style — Udio generates lyrics based on the text prompt; include explicit lyric instructions ("verse-chorus-verse structure", "include a bridge") or paste your own lyrics using [Verse], [Chorus], [Bridge] markers directly in the prompt.
Account creation issues or login failures — Udio uses Google OAuth; if login fails, check if your browser is blocking third-party cookies (required for the OAuth redirect). Try an incognito window; corporate networks sometimes block Udio's OAuth callback domain.
