Common causes of "Midjourney not working"

Discord bot offline or not responding — Midjourney runs primarily through Discord. If the bot shows as offline, it may be restarting after an update or under heavy load.
Subscription expired or out of GPU minutes — Midjourney uses a GPU-minute credit system. Check your remaining credits at midjourney.com/account.
Slow queue (not an outage) — During peak hours, job queue times can be 5-30+ minutes on non-Fast plans. This isn't an outage; Midjourney continues processing at its own pace.
Content policy rejection — Prompts flagged by the content filter return a "Banned prompt" message. This is a filter hit, not a downtime issue.
Discord DM disabled or bot blocked — If you changed Discord privacy settings or accidentally blocked the bot, images won't be delivered.
Account suspended — Repeated ToS violations result in account suspension. Check your email for notifications.
