Why is Midjourney not working?

Midjourney may not work because: (1) Midjourney servers are down — check prismix.dev/service/midjourney for live status; (2) Discord is having issues (Midjourney runs in Discord) — check Discord status separately; (3) you ran out of GPU hours or fast hours on your plan; (4) you are using an outdated model version in your prompt; (5) your account was temporarily suspended for a terms violation.

Is Midjourney down right now?

Check prismix.dev/service/midjourney for live Midjourney status updated every 5 minutes. You can also check the Midjourney status page at status.midjourney.com and the #announcements channel in the Midjourney Discord server for real-time updates.

Why is Midjourney not generating images?

If Midjourney stops generating images: (1) check your remaining GPU time with /info in Discord; (2) the servers may be at capacity — queue times increase during peak US evening hours; (3) Discord bots sometimes need the server owner to re-authorize after Discord updates; (4) try /imagine with a simple test prompt to isolate the issue.

Midjourney says I ran out of GPU hours — what does that mean?

Each Midjourney plan includes a set amount of GPU time per month (fast hours). When fast hours run out, you can: (1) enable Relax mode (/relax) for free slower generation (Standard and Pro plans only); (2) buy additional fast hours in your account dashboard at midjourney.com; (3) upgrade your plan; or (4) wait for the next billing cycle when hours reset.

What’s happening?

Images not generating at all

Check Midjourney status above. If Operational, type /info in Discord to see remaining GPU hours. If at 0, enable Relax mode with /relax (Standard/Pro plans).

Discord bot not responding

The Midjourney Bot may appear offline in Discord. Check discordstatus.com first — Discord platform issues affect all bots. If Discord is fine, try rejoining the Midjourney server or DM the bot directly.

Very slow generation (waiting a long time)

If you’re on Relax mode, queue times can reach 10-30 minutes during peak hours (US evenings, weekend mornings). Switch to Fast mode or wait. Fast mode uses your GPU hour balance.

Error: “Invalid or unknown slash command”

Discord may have removed the Midjourney Bot’s application commands from your server. Ask the server owner to re-add the Midjourney Bot, or use Midjourney via DM to the bot.

“Action needed to continue” message

Midjourney pauses accounts that trigger their content policy. You must agree to their updated ToS or address a flagged image before generation continues. Visit midjourney.com/account.

Using Midjourney web instead of Discord

Midjourney launched a native web interface at midjourney.com that works without Discord. If Discord is causing issues:

Go to midjourney.com and sign in with your Discord account
Generate directly from the web interface — same GPU hours, same plan limits
If web works but Discord doesn’t, the issue is in Discord’s bot system, not Midjourney’s servers
