NeurIPS 2026 - How is the guaranteed author registration for each accepted paper provided? [D]

Hello everyone, I am currently a final-year undergrad and I luckily got my first first-author paper accepted to NeurIPS. I would really like to come to Sydney to present my work. However, I am not sure I can attend yet, since my final exam period is around the same time as the conference. As I was reading the registration process on the NeurIPS blog, they said:

"If the designated author has registered already for a different location than the one designated for their paper, they will have to cancel their registration (and receive a full refund until the deadline of Nov. 4) and register to the designated location (they will have a guaranteed spot). Note that we expect the designated author to be present at the designated location to present their work. "

The problem is that we could not decide who will present the work yet, and the preference form actually has the option "No presenter chosen yet". But it feels that, from the blog, once a designated author is chosen, the registration is not transferable to co-authors. Therefore, I am not sure if it is okay to keep the option "No presenter chosen yet" in the form. Like, will they reach out later to choose which author to present again, or will the guaranteed slot for my paper then be randomly given to an author on my paper?

Sorry for asking too much, but this is my first conference, and I am pretty confused about how the guaranteed ticket will be given out. Thanks for your help.
