Is Typesafe based/derived from work done by the Laya author?

Typesafe's new model, Jev is all over the internet, this sub etc as a new classifier model.
Then an AI dev posted here how they'd done something very similar, and made a new model, Laya.
I'm not an ML/AI dev, just a regular dev. I do know that there appear to be a lot of similarities, much more than surface level, and Typesafe didn't cite or credit the original paper.
any experts want to chime in?
