If these benchmarks are accurate, models available to run locally on <8K USD (us prices - just guestimating/not exact) hardware has nearly the same intelligence score as the top frontier models 5 months ago.

This is absolutely nuts. I just impulse purchased 128GB of DDR4 so I can run it combined with my 4x 5060 ti's (64GB VRAM total).
